(1) The competent ethics committee shall transmit its opinion to the sponsor within a time limit of 30 days of receipt of the application in proper form.

(2) Where additional information is requested, the running of the time limit shall be suspended from the date on which the request for information under section 50(3) sentence 1 is dispatched until receipt of the additional information.

(3) The time limit for the opinion shall be extended by 15 days where the ethics committee seeks advice from experts.

In this case, the ethics committee shall inform the sponsor, no later than 20 days after receipt of the application in proper form, that the time limit is extended on account of the advice from experts.
In diesem Fall teilt die Ethik-Kommission dem Sponsor spätestens 20 Tage nach Eingang des ordnungsgemäßen Antrags mit, dass sich die Frist auf Grund der Beratung durch Sachverständige verlängert.
(4) Where, under section 36b(2) item 3 of the Radiation Protection Act (Strahlenschutzgesetz), the time limit for the preparation of the ethics committee's opinion under radiation protection law is extended or its running is suspended, the time limit available to the ethics committee for the preparation of its opinion under section 50 shall likewise be extended accordingly or its running shall be suspended accordingly.
(4) Verlängert sich nach § 36b Absatz 2 Nummer 3 des Strahlenschutzgesetzes die Frist zur Erstellung der strahlenschutzrechtlichen Stellungnahme der Ethik-Kommission oder ist deren Ablauf gehemmt, verlängert sich auch die der Ethik-Kommission zur Erstellung der Stellungnahme nach § 50 zustehende Frist entsprechend oder ist deren Ablauf entsprechend gehemmt.
