(1) In the event of death, damages shall be paid by reimbursing the costs of attempted treatment and the financial loss suffered by the deceased as a result of his or her earning capacity having been eliminated or reduced, or of his or her needs having increased, during the illness.
(1) Im Falle der Tötung ist der Schadensersatz durch Ersatz der Kosten einer versuchten Heilung sowie des Vermögensnachteils zu leisten, den der Getötete dadurch erlitten hat, dass während der Krankheit seine Erwerbsfähigkeit aufgehoben oder gemindert oder eine Vermehrung seiner Bedürfnisse eingetreten war.
The person liable to pay compensation shall, in addition, reimburse the funeral costs to the person who is obliged to bear those costs.
Der Ersatzpflichtige hat außerdem die Kosten der Beerdigung demjenigen zu ersetzen, dem die Verpflichtung obliegt, diese Kosten zu tragen.
(2) If, at the time of the injury, the deceased stood in a relationship to a third party by virtue of which he or she was, or could become, liable by law to provide maintenance to that third party, and if the third party has been deprived of the right to maintenance as a result of the death, the person liable to pay compensation shall pay damages to the third party to the extent that the deceased would have been obliged to provide maintenance during his or her presumed lifetime.
(2) Stand der Getötete zur Zeit der Verletzung zu einem Dritten in einem Verhältnis, vermöge dessen er diesem gegenüber kraft Gesetzes unterhaltspflichtig war oder unterhaltspflichtig werden konnte, und ist dem Dritten infolge der Tötung das Recht auf Unterhalt entzogen, so hat der Ersatzpflichtige dem Dritten insoweit Schadensersatz zu leisten, als der Getötete während der mutmaßlichen Dauer seines Lebens zur Gewährung des Unterhalts verpflichtet gewesen sein würde.
The obligation to pay compensation shall also arise if the third party had been conceived but not yet born at the time of the injury.

(3) The person liable to pay compensation shall pay appropriate monetary compensation to a surviving dependant who, at the time of the injury, stood in a particularly close personal relationship with the deceased, for the emotional suffering inflicted on that surviving dependant.
(3) Der Ersatzpflichtige hat dem Hinterbliebenen, der zur Zeit der Verletzung zu dem Getöteten in einem besonderen persönlichen Näheverhältnis stand, für das dem Hinterbliebenen zugefügte seelische Leid eine angemessene Entschädigung in Geld zu leisten.
A particularly close personal relationship shall be presumed if the surviving dependant was the spouse, the registered civil partner, a parent or a child of the deceased.
