Most DiGA enter provisionally and must prove a positive care effect during a trial phase. Of the 74 DiGA listed by the end of 2025:
| Route | DiGA | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Permanent from the start | 14 | 19% |
| Started provisionally | 60 | 81% |
| — moved to permanent | 34 | |
| Removed from the directory (all routes) | 16 | 22% |
| Trial phases ending in permanent listing | 34 of 50 | ~70% |
Removals include My Dose Coach, Selfapy Schmerz, Vantis, MindDoc, mebix, orthopy and actensio in 2025, and sinCephalea in January 2026.
Manufacturers set the price freely for the first 12 months; after that a negotiated price applies. The gap between the two is the single most important number in a DiGA business case.
Prices range from EUR 119 to EUR 2,077.40. The 10 DiGA still provisional at the end of 2025 averaged EUR 602.70. What this means for timing and budget is in how long a DiGA takes, and what it costs.
A listing makes an app reimbursable. GPs decide whether it is used.
